I am a very enthusiastic teacher and colleague, and have been fortunate to perform with and study under various excellent clarinetists; George Pieterson (Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam), Piet Honingh (Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam) and Charles Russo (NYC Opera, New York) have positively influenced my development as a musician and a performer. My goal in teaching clarinet is to discover and fully develop the qualities and strengths unique to each student and encourage them in as many ways as possible to personally discover these attributes and pursue their technical, musical and theoretical studies so as to achieve their fullest potential. My lessons are marked by discussions about ‘life habits’ which we develop specifically for the musical situation at hand, but which are applicable to many situations in life in general. Students come away from coaching sessions invigorated and enthusiastic.
