I've worked with Sameer since 2010 and have enjoyed every moment of it. He's respected by his clients and his colleagues alike. Sameer is single handedly the best negotiator I have encountered in the travel business, and in turn has very high expectations for his business results. This has lead to extremely successful direct marketing campaigns year after year with ROIs in the 10:1+ range. His business strategy is truly one to be reckoned with. Separate from business, he's a very sincere, thoughtful, and energetic partner that I'm honored to have had the pleasure to work with.

Responsible for all Commercial strategies for TPG Hospitality Group. Overseeing the verticals of Revenue & Distribution, e-Commerce, Business Intelligence and Sales & Marketing. ● I made a significant impact at TPG by designing and implementing key strategies in revenue/distribution and business intelligence. These included spearheading a variety of projects in e-Commerce and sales & marketing, in close collaboration with PR agencies. In addition, I provided tactical guidance leading to third-party management contracts. ● I also implemented a variety of measures to standardize systems and restructure departments, resulting in a more streamlined, high-functioning, and collaborative environment. ● Among my accomplishments in this role, the direct business opportunities I ushered in attained growth in the range of 10-15%. I also successfully launched the Residence Inn Providence, which achieved 82% RPI by its second month of operation.

Chief Revenue Officer

2013 - 2019
● In this role, I focused on building the Revenue Management team to grow the company and develop its staff, in close collaboration with the Executive and Asset Management teams. In particular, I increased direct business and integrated a variety of systems for portfolio and revenue management, such as leveraging the Big Data platform for innovative forecasting and pricing. ● I steered the company through negotiations to acquire multi-million dollar contracts with Fed Group Housing, business with the Hilton Grand Vacation, and ventures with other partners. I also transitioned newly acquired hotels and facilitated their efficient, stable launches. ● At the same time, I spearheaded efforts in marketing that unified the brand (iC collection of Hersha) and improved its digital presence through responsive websites, search engine optimization, and PPC opportunities. ● My efforts left a significant footprint, including a 35% increase in direct business and a 35% boost to NOI. The New York portfolio of 20 hotels I administered outperformed the market in 17 consecutive quarters. In addition, a group of hotels I raised from $200/key to $500/key was then sold to a group of investors; the proceeds were used to expand the company’s growth in key markets.

Vice President - Revenue & Distribution
-
2003 - 2013
● At Highgate, I oversaw both unit and regional operations. I was promoted from Director of Revenue and Distribution for the 1300-room Milford Plaza Hotel (now the Row Hotel) after I grew its revenue from $50M to $100M in three years. After taking on the role of Regional VP of Revenue and Distribution, I managed the New York City region’s portfolio, responsible for $0.5B in revenue and 6000 rooms across a range of hotels (Hilton, Doubletree, Radisson, Marriott, and independents). I then grew into my final role with Highgate, VP of Revenue and Distribution. ● During my tenure at Highgate, I facilitated the integration of acquisitions into the portfolio. In addition, I spearheaded a variety of marketing initiatives, including vanity websites. One I launched for a Radisson outperformed the brand website’s contribution by 20% in six months. I also implemented flash sales, including one that increased top-line performance at a Poconos hotel 30% in its first year. ● Overall, I drove year-over-year revenue increases at all properties; RevPar shares grew in the range of 10-20%.
