I was a student teacher at Barrington Elementary through UNH's P-3 program. I was in a first-grade classroom where I taught lessons that used the programs Math in Focus, Fundations, and the Reader’s Workshop model. I had the responsibility to lead reading conferences, and conduct DRA and running record assessments. When instruction shifted to remote learning, I led one-on-one tutoring with students and created writing assignments for students to practice their writing skills. I have participated in weekly PLCs and the special education process, implementing IEP goals for students. I also worked once a week with the occupational therapist to create activities for the students to do. Other programs I have worked with during my student-teaching were Responsive Classroom, Social-Emotional Learning, Title I, and the Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS). Show less

I have done two internships and worked part time during one school semester at the Child Study and Development Center. During my time at the CSDC, I planned activities that focused on the physical, social, emotional, and/or cognitive development of children, and used different forms of observation tools to mark progress in their growth and development of skills. I was also taught the importance of different social-emotional behaviors and skills, and have worked with children on developing conflict resolution skills and self-regulation. Other duties I had at the CSDC included preparing snacks and lunch for the children, helping children fall asleep during naptime, and cleaning the classroom furniture and toys. Show less
