Home Depot was a great place to work. It was always challenging, eventful and most importantly fast paced. As an HR Manager I had to check my ego at the door and always be willing to do what was right, no sides, it was something I took a lot pride doing well. I was responsible for the Human Resources department of the Springfield, Mo Home Depot store. I managed employee work schedules with one scheduler assistant. I interviewed during all three shifts to keep store operating at maximum capacity without going over in payroll dollars. I hired, orientated, and basic trained employees as well as was responsible for Team Depot, Wellness Program, and College Tuition Distribution Program. I was the liaison between Management and Employees in all issues that arose in day to day operations. I participated in each review cycle, reviewing and teaching managers how evaluate employees to maximize potential while making payroll budgets. Responsible for an average of 30 new rollouts per year to employees ranging from fork lift certification to inventory systems and Christmas hardware sales. We ranged from 187 employees in Jan and Feb to over 300 during peak season, our inventory was over $8 million and our sales were over $42 million in 2005 upon my departure.
