I'm part of a team based in Frankfurt, Germany. This team has primary developed applications with a Domino back-end that are accessed by either a Notes client or a browser. I took over dozens of these apps, in use by coworkers all over the world, and updated both the UI and the underlying code with an emphasis on improving security. In addition, I met with managers across the company in order to design and build new applications. I trained in and did some work with IBM XPages, but that came to a halt when Evonik decided to become a Microsoft shop. We are transitioning to developing applications with a SharePoint back-end that are enhanced using PowerApps, Flow, and K2. Show less

I worked with management and staff to design and implement most of the applications that this state agency runs on. Every person who wants to be a lawyer in the state of Florida applies via the Domino based applications on the agency's website. Once in-house, the applications spend the rest of their processing being handled in Lotus Notes client apps. As the sole Notes/Domino developer while I was there, I handled every aspect of each application's lifecyle. I met with clients to gather requirements, then designed and implemented Lotus Notes client/web applications based on those requirements. In addition, I spent quite a bit of time taking over failed/stalled projects and getting them back on track. IBM liked one of these applications (one for CNN) so much that they sent me to the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas to demo it in their pavilion.
