  Paul led the corporate finance function at Inspiring Learning, reporting to the CEO and CFO, in a senior strategic role that encompassed both corporate development (M&A, strategic options, financing) and core finance activities (overseeing stakeholder reporting, budgeting and forecasting).This role included participation at board meetings alongside the shareholders (Bridgepoint), Chairman, CEO, CFO and COO.Experience includes:- Managing the day-to-day activity on the successful sale of the business (Nov ’15 – Oct’16). This transaction generated significant value for the vendors (double digit EBITDA multiple)- Leading post-transaction finance and legal work streams (forecasts/budgeting, development and execution of interest rate hedging strategy, reporting)- Managing reporting & communication with key stakeholders (lenders, shareholders)- Overall responsibility for financing arrangements, including monitoring, review and negotiation where required (eg. SFA terms, covenants and covenant reset, ISDA)- Managing M&A activity within the business, including negotiation (heads of terms, SPA), diligence (managing advisors, internal), valuation and strategy. This includes successfully leading the acquisition of a large multi-site day camps provider in Oct '15, a highly value-accretive transaction that generated significant multiple uplift on the subsequent sale of the whole business- Developing new corporate models for the businesses with advanced scenario capabilities, to forecast financial statements, funding and covenant compliance.Inspiring Learning is a private equity owned education provider which specialises in "learning outside of the classroom" experiences for young people. The business was sold by the previous private equity owners to Bridgepoint in Oct '16, and split into two businesses: Inspiring Learning (Kingswood) and Equity.
