Duties include serving customers at checkouts and providing a friendly and helpful service to all shoppers. I assist customers individually by scanning and packing customers' shopping and also as part of a team when working at self-service or scan-as-you-shop checkout lanes. As I typically work until closing, duties also include helping team leaders with jobs such as collecting money from tills and taking it to the cash office, occasionally 'run the line' (help cashiers who call for assistance) and ensure everything is securely locked before leaving. During Christmas, I also work on the shop floor and walk around with a 'I'm here to help' sign, greet customers, help them find products they desire and make shelf displays look more presentable

    • Student Ambassador
      • Aug 2019 - Aug 2021

The main duty is to be a welcoming and approachable person that provides information to prospective students and visitors of Keele University. I have given five - ten minute talks about my experience of studying Human Resource Management at Keele University, sign-posted and shown visitors around campus and I have spoken one-on-one to prospective students and family members about numerous aspects of university life such as balancing a dual honours degree, extra-curricular activities and the local area.

    • Student Wellbeing Ambassador
      • Sep 2020 - Jun 2021

The main duties were creating, organising and running events for Keele University students, to promote and aid student wellbeing. The specifics of each event was left to my discretion therefore after talking through initial ideas with my line manager, I independently researched topics, created or sourced materials and presented events such as a Kahoots Quiz about Keele University, an Aboriginal Dot Painting class and Mindfulness Walks in Keele Woods. For some events, I liaised with professionals in the field such as a ‘Lunch and Learn’ with Psychology lecturers' guest speaking and a Yoga class with a trained instructor. Duties also involved posting information related to events in the Keele University 'Wellbeing Wednesday' group and making social media posts for the 'Life at Keele' social media accounts that related to the event topics. After each event, I provided written feedback and at the end of the academic year, I analysed and evaluated all the feedback to highlight overall positives and negatives from events and collated common themes.

    • Sales Assistant
      • Jun 2013 - Sep 2015

The main duties were helping customers find and choose school uniform, stocking shelves and measuring children's shoe sizes. During Spring, the shop also sold Communion Dresses so I would help customers find the right style and size dress. When visiting the store, each customer had a personal sales assistant, whether they came in for one item or uniform for multiple children starting school for the first time therefore understanding the needs of individual customers and providing a personalised service was important.
