Charlie Schobel is one of America's best trained executives and a remarkable human being. I have known him since late 1991, and never cease to be amazed at his composure under fire. A few years ago, when an unfortunate fire at a Rockdale County warehouse owned by Biolab threatened the company's very existence, Charlie's earlier disaster planning exercises (and advanced disaster contingency planning) deflected numerous civil claims by persons and businesses affected by the blaze. A disaster of this type has closed the doors of more than one corporate entity, but Charlie's advanced planning saved the day. I have never met an executive of any company who was better suited for leadership than Charlie. On top of that, he is an amazingly nice person.
