In January this year I set off on a ten-day bike tour of the less travelled area of Southern Myanmar. My husband and co author Les Stanley, was unable to join me on the trip although he did join me in keeping a diary. Our collaboration has resulted in a funny, insightful and occasionally irreverent description of the trip.If you like the benefits of travelling slowing through exotic places then we think you'll enjoy the read.

The book is targeted at managers in large organisations and draws heavily on my PhD research into what’s happening when people are highly engaged at work. The results are recommendations for manager’s behaviours and team processes. There's also a chapter discussing what it’s like to live in a large organisation and how this influences your status and identity. The book is sprinkled with the voices of employees. The book will also be helpful for those people responsible for organisational wide employee engagement initiatives. Perhaps you are in human resources or corporate communications. There is a chapter written with input from folk who have run these programs. Learn more at www.engagementwhisperer.com where you can sign up for my newsletter and receive a copy of templates with questions to stimulate conversations around what engages you at work. Show less
