I completed my industrial and business secondment at one of the GlySign partners, Ludger Ltd, located near Oxford, UK for a period of 18 months. The purpose of this secondment is two-fold: To provide excellent training in the industrial sector in order to gain inter-sectoral experience and to exploit the key translational synergies between academic and industrial partners. This project will focus on further characterising N-glycans in human plasma. Completed training at the award winning NIBRT facility as part of the Education Programme in Biopharmaceutical Operations. This provided excellent hands-on experience of working in a Bioprocessing site to GMP standards as well as providing a deep understanding of the processes involved at each level, in bioproduction and in regulation.
