Hugh Scallon
I had the pleasure of working with Brian for almost three years at an Omnicom Media Group agency. He had the courage at the time take a calculated risk and join a start up shop (and relo to working in New York) for a blue chip client. He quickly became a key player on healthcare CPG brands. We promoted him to a Director position during his run at Hearts & Science. Brian was fun to work with inside/outside the office, had a great sense of humor and also real passion for both his clients’ business needs and helping his team members. Moreover he was consistent in seeking feedback on his performance and counsel on his career path/growth. He was a good mentor for junior staffers post promotion. And he became known with clients for having a strong POV on tough issues. The last and coolest thing is that Brian was on a team that helped win an Amazon Alexa Hackathon in 2016 for a Health CPG. That core idea wound up being launched in 2018 for his client as part of a podcast activation. Then it won the first ever ‘Voice’ Lion at Cannes for advertising, plus nearly 10 other awards in 2018 including Adweek Plan of the Year for Audio and a CLIO!
