Florence is an incredibly intelligent, efficient and committed professional. She always works to very high standards and delivers far more than she is asked to. She has a wide range of skills she can turn her hand to, and is calm, focused, patient and fun to be around. She also has a contagious 'can do' attitude!

Florence was an incredibly supportive colleague when we worked together at FrontlineSMS. She has an amazing ability to unite and mobilize people as proven in her role as Community Manager. She was a fantastic team builder: chairing team calls with such interest and thoughtfully reflecting on everyone's contributions. Its clear that not only the quantity but also the quality and reach of blog posts have generated significant interest because of the way Florence engaged with the users. Florence is inspirational in her enthusiasm, meticulous organisation and dedication to hard work. Whenever I hear her speak about FrontlineSMS - especially the stories about application - I am motivated by her professionalism, passion and ability to engage people. Florence is generous in offering insightful and constructive feedback. I learnt a lot from the way she is so calm, well organised and always so positive about everything she does. She is sorely missed.

FrontlineSMS enables positive social change through powerful mobile technology, and its work is making an impact all across the world. In my role at FrontlineSMS I was responsible for supporting and connecting those using our mobile software. This involved many areas including research, community-building and website management. I also worked on developing external engagement strategies for the organisation, which included public speaking, events management, and working with social media and other online communications.

The Humanitarian Centre is a network for international relief and development organisations. As Communications Officer I coordinated all external communications for the Centre and supervised the design of a new website: www.humanitariancentre.org. My responsibilities included writing and design for printed material, managing all relationships with the media, and producing digital content. As a result of my work our social media profile and online news content improved, and the Centre's reputation grew through media attention. My role later shifted towards Project Management of a network dedicated to the use of information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D). As part of managing this network I organised a successful project launch event which was attended by around 250 people. During my time at the Humanitarian Centre I managed and trained other staff members, and recruited a large team of volunteers to help with events, promotion and communications at the Centre.
