    • Personal Assistant to the Head of Music & Programme Coordinator for ECHO Rising Stars
      • Apr 2016 - Apr 2019

Acting as the Personal Assistant to the Head of Music at the Barbican Centre gave me the opportunity to observe how an established cross-arts organisation worked and to hone my management and production skills. In addition to managing the Head of Music's diary and arranging his travels, I have acted as the programming coordinator for the ECHO Rising Star series which involved budgeting for concerts; liaising with artist managements; contracting performers, circulating marketing information and coordinating masterclasses with the Centre For Young Musicians. I have also managed the department's overheads budget as well as large-scale receptions involving various artistic partners. My duties also included responding to all customer comments related to music events and I had to manage the orchestral repertoire clash list for the Barbican and its artistic partners. Both tasks required a level of meticulousness and diplomacy, as I sometimes had to ask orchestra managements to come to an agreement on some difficult situations that have arisen While working at the Barbican, I offered my support to the Creative Learning team on several occasions: at the Dialogue Festival for which I assisted different groups of performers such as Inclusive Communities formed by adults with learning disabilities; at the Walthamstow Garden Party for which I worked on the delivery of the education / outreach events. I had an incredible time working with the creative learning team on both festivals as I believe that Music is a powerful tool for healing and transforming communities. I have also acted as Production Manager for the Access Day which took place on 16th March 2019 at the Barbican Centre. The event explored how technology and audience participation could re-imagine music performance. It was an incredible opportunity for me to work with Drake Music and the Britten Sinfonia Academy.
