David was in charge of the business unit of which our office was part during our employment with Vantis plc. As location director for our office I reported directly to David. I found his management style to be one of those rare ones where you gained trust in his support for what you were trying to achieve, knowing that the "carrot" approach was always favoured over the "stick" one which was rarely used and only when appropriate. We had confidence that our corner would be fought further up the line and personal politics did not get in the way. I beleive such an approach gets a far better response from teams than is otherwise achieved and believe that was the case in our situation. I would fully endorse David's approach to management, leadership and motivating teams.

I worked with David when we were both at Vantis plc. David is a highly professional, motivated and competent manager well capable of motivating his team and getting the results required.

My primary role is International Liaison working with international companies wishing to establish themselves in the UK. Generally , given my background,I look to add value to my clients businesses by helping them achieve their goals and this usually, but not exclusively, revolves around growth, whether organic or M&A driven, and people. The people side is often overlooked but staff development, including retention & motivation, is as important in driving up the value of a business as "numbers" driven strategies. On the numbers side I have in depth & practical experience of margin improvement, cost management and cash flow improvement. Equally as happy to act as a sounding board to management in an informal way or as a non-exec, including Chairman. It has been proven, time & time again, that those businesses which have non-execs on board are likely to grow faster and achieve higher valuations than those without. Non Exec type work is primarily about relationships so if you would like to meet for an informal chat please feel free to contact me.

Key Achievements include Changing the strategic direction of the business to a fully integrated hub & spoke strategy. The creation of a highly profitable & cash generative Thames Valley office with a turnover of circa £7m.
