I oversee multiple projects and initiatives, including a podcast, fellowship program, summer institute, and K-12 education programs. I manage instructors and contractors while collaborating with stakeholders, including community partners. Community partners include public schools, teachers, non-profit organizations, artists, and tradition-bearers. I report directly to executive leadership.I design instructional materials and adapt training programs to meet our collaborators' needs. I work with a variety of tools and platforms including Google Classroom, ArcGIS StoryMaps, and audio production software such as Hindenburg and Descript.In 2022 I planned and implemented a statewide Community Folklife Fellowship program, which provides training in oral history, folklore and media to 10 community members across the state of Texas. I managed a project team of 7 instructors and program assistants. This innovative program has been highlighted in the Texas Standard and discussed at the American Folklore Society annual meeting and the National Association of State Arts Agencies. Stories from Deep in the Heart is a podcast and audio storytelling training initiative of Texas Folklife, geared towards Texas youth and communities. I sustain and grow our program by planning and overseeing all programmatic activities and developing long-term strategic plans. I also develop and sustain relationships with community organizations, teachers, artists, and producers. The Latin American Music Review is a leading semiannual research journal published by UT Press. As the assistant editor, I used Scholastica to process dozens of incoming article submissions. Managing the peer-review process, I identified and regularly corresponded with leading academics in Latin American studies and ethno/musicology and made editorial recommendations based on these experts' insights.
