Such an understanding and down to earth manager who encouraged and motivated staff to develop their skills for progression. One of the best managers I have ever worked with and I hold Jamie in high esteem not just for his amazing managerial skills but for making staff feel they 'belonged' and were valued. Can I work with you again, please? :0)

As WLM set out to embed our 3-year strategy, we are refocusing our efforts into three main areas:• Community• Criminal Justice• CounselingWe believe in a world where everyone can thrive. We co-create safe spaces where people can develop their potential. As an expression of our inclusive Christian ethos, we are committed to living these four values:DYNAMIC We are committed to responding imaginatively to meet the changing circumstances of people and communities.DETERMINED We seek social justice and strive for excellence. CARING We care holistically about everyone.COLLABORATIVE We draw on everyone’s skills and experience, as we believe we achieve more together. As Head of Community, my role is to support the team to develop our Community hubs to become thriving, busy spaces for the community, by the community. We currently operate in two sites: WLM St. Luke’s in Kennington, Lambeth & WLM Seymour Place in Marylebone, Westminster.I also support the work of the residential team who operate supported housing for Veteran’s over two sites in Lambeth. This team also work with people who live in our low cost housing for keyworkers. I have led on our winter service- WLM Spaces for the last 2 winters supported by funding from Housing Justice and Homeless Link. We offered a hotel alongside coaching for people who were working and moving through homelessness. Finally, and by no means least, I am leading on our organisational shift to working in a strengths based way. This involves our partnership with Mayday Trust and managing a small team of coaches delivering in the PTS approach.

I supported Ade Somoye in the leadership and management of four projects around the London borough of Islington. Our residents took opportunities to take charge of their recovery. Two of these hostels offered 24hr support from staff. The staff team and the relationships they have with clients were the biggest asset.

The passage is a day centre for people experiencing homelessness in Victoria, London where I assisted in the day to to day running. Around 200 clients per day would attend to gain access to food, showers and clothes. I carried out initial assessments with people, prioritising need and signposting to specialist services.
