Tasks included assessing existing systems, and comparing their capabilities to projected future requirements, recommending upgrades/new systems, then implementation (specialist strength areas: IT systems, accounting, finance, supply chain and e-commerce integration).The main focus was to integrate all systems utilising various technologies to bring the business up to best practice standards within budget. Change management aspects of the role entailed making the e-commerce work within an environment dominated by traditional retailing business models, resistance to change, and lack of understanding of the channel and the methodologies surrounding it.
