  The Jewish Federation of Grand Rapids was organized in 1947 as the Jewish Community Fund. From these roots, the Federation has grown by leaps and bounds through the help of involvement of the West Michigan Jewish community. Today the Jewish Federation of Grand Rapids works closely with other local, national, and international Jewish organizations to help assure the sustenance and strength of the Jewish people here and around the world. Key achievements: -Growing fundraising in the annual campaign and endowment. -Playing a key role in creating West Michigan's first Holocaust Memorial, located at the world-renowned Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. -Pioneering an innovative, first-of-its-kind website documenting the lives of Holocaust survivors who settled in Western Michigan, a collaborative project with the Meijer Gardens, Detroit Historical Society, Grand Valley State University's Kaufman Institute, Aquinas College, and the Anti-Defamation League.
