Josh brought a unique one-two punch of great engineering chops and unusually deep business experience when he joined Tomo. There's plenty I can use to recommend him based on the first trait alone. Most notably, he established key design patterns in tricky projects like 1) a multi-service data synchronization feature and 2) a mocking capability used by our integration tests. His efforts for the former showed a particularly effective approach to collaborative design: using multiple prototypes to rapidly get feedback from the team, he eventually established a pattern cleaner and more reusable than what I had envisioned myself when we started the project. The second trait might be where Josh made his most unique contributions, however. He could speak the same language as the Tomo capital markets team, and on at least one occasion he correctly predicted new production scenarios our platform needed to support months before the need arose. Josh was a real pleasure to work with. I hope we have the chance to do so again!
