-Performs Cable End Preparation for making light-weight or lightweight protected cable to cable joint using Universal Jointing Technology such as ASN OALC2, OALC4, OALC5, OALC7, Tyco SL17 Loose Tube, SL17 Elastomer and URC-1 -Assembles the Universal Joint Housing using KIT9002 or KITH9002 -Performs Fiber optic splicing using Arc Fusion Machine UJS -S100 or UJS -S200 -Performs re-in statement of cable insulation by molding a polyethylene sleeve over the ends of both cables and the inner Universal Joint Assembly using C-SAMS or Computer-Shipboard Automated Molding System with Injection Unit -Examines the visual and X-ray of the polyethylene insulation of powered and unpowered optical submarine cable joints used for molding -Assembles the external armor protection components and re-instatement of the armor cable wires. -Assists Electrician and Tester in their entire task for operation and maintenance -Reports consumables of the jointing department Show less
