As a third grade classroom teacher, I plan, prepare, and implement lessons aligned to the Common Core Standards. I also ensure students’ needs are being met through data-driven instruction and decision making. Furthermore, I support student learning by incorporating teacher modeling, differentiated instruction, and providing timely feedback. Overall, I collaborate with counselors, administrators, teachers, and parents to fully support the social-emotional wellbeing and academic success for all students.

As a first grade teacher I developed and implemented daily and unit lesson plans for 25 students by applying formative and summative assessments including analyzing student performance in English language arts, math, and science. In addition, I effectively partner with counselors, administration, and staff to ensure care and support for the social, emotional and learning success of children. I also established learning objectives, providing teacher modeling, fostering student learning through guided instruction, encouraging collaboration among students, and well-structured independent tasks by employing Gradual Release of Responsibility. My passion for technology has led me to effectively use Google Slides, YouTube videos, and visual aids to present and guide lessons and learning objectives in addition to using teaching strategies and methods to develop relevant sequential mathematics and science assignments using music, film, and technology. I took on the additional responsibility by updating information regarding the culture and achievements of students on the school’s social media page, resulting in increased traffic.

Education Director / Children’s Pastor

As the Education Director and Children’s Pastor, I was responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the overall activities, systems and structures including, providing safe learning facilities, scheduling and attendance, teacher training, emergency planning, calendar planning of the school year, and curriculum and instruction. I was proud of my success in administering multiple special events including, Weekly Friday night Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (AWANA) that averaged 110 children, Annual Summer Vacation Bible School with over 160 children, and Annual Summer Children’s Retreat with 80+ children. As a Children's Pastor, I created the programming, vision, and development of Sunday school, mid-week programs, special events, outreach, and celebrations for ages 18 months to 5th grade, averaging 350 children and an adult congregation with over 650 weekly. I successfully initiated the start-up of the children’s ministry increasing student attendance from 20+ students to over 400 every Sunday. In addition, I also lectured, directed, and taught advanced research-based professional development classes focused on effective teaching practices in a cross-cultural context for Singaporean and Vietnamese pastors.

As an elementary school teacher, I fostered a classroom environment for 20 second graders conducive to meeting their academic and social behavior needs and conducted group and individual activities to further enhance learning through multiple teaching strategies and techniques; including whole group, individual, small group and teacher modeling. I designed and developed programs to meet the academic, intellectual and social needs of students; established classroom rules and guidelines, evaluated performance, prepared materials, and designed individual and group instruction lessons. In addition, I provided interactive pedagogy, scaffolding, and feedback, resulting in improved student engagement, social skills, and academic growth.
