The role of Senior Systems & Network Engineer includes architecture, design and maintenance of data centre network infrastructure, as well as, customer environments or “sites” as part of a managed application solution. Daily responsibilities included providing top level escalation support for Dubsat Limited and their customers. The Senior Systems & Network Engineer role is to resolve the majority of issues escalated to them and ensuring management and clients are updated accordingly. The Senior Systems & Network Engineer is also in charge of network security. • Execution of Engineering Projects, including project planning and management, creation of design specifications and completion of project tasks to agreed milestones either locally or as part of a Global team. • Integration of new clients and additional client services, including client liaison, design configuration implementation of clients solutions. • Provide high level of technical expertise to the rest of teams: Support, Development and Sales • Pro-active problem management using ITIL Framework. • To enforce rigour and control in the deployment and implementation process to ensure product and services are released in a supportable manner to defined standards of quality. • To apply technical policies and standards to network systems supported. • To ensure that appropriate documentation is delivered. • To ensure customer requirements are translated to deliverable systems. • Log cases to 3rd party like Cisco or Telco and requesting assistance on unresolved issues. • Perform regular rules review and cleanup of firewall security rules. • Perform Professional Service work for clients. • Responsible for monitoring, capacity planning, performance and tuning to identify bottlenecks and troubleshooting. • Ensure all policies and procedures published and endorsed are adopted and adhered to and Services Procedures are continually developed/improved through feedback to Governance.
