Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan is a small, grassroots 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides wigs and support services to children ages 3 to 18 at no charge throughout the state of Michigan. Our main focus is on cancer patients and includes other young people with similar appearance-related challenges that cause hair loss such as alopecia, trichotillomania, lupus, hydrocephalus, burns and other disorders. Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan provides custom cut and styled wigs and services at no cost to kids and their families and accepts donations from caring individuals, companies and organizations. We are funded solely on the basis of contributions. Any financial support received presents a greater opportunity to help kids in need of our assistance. In June of 2020, the organization established a NEW Wellness Center & Salon. The Wellness Center provides a safe, nurturing environment for the children and their families. We are continuing our current mission, with expanded programming to include support service classes, social activities, field trips & counseling and offerings such as massage, skin & nail care, fitness & nutrition, an Enchanted Tea Room and much more! We have also introduced wig bills with the help of state legislators to encourage insurance companies to cover the cost of a wig for a child just like any other prosthetic.
