Sarah Isal
Annie completed an internship at Runnymede, the UK’s leading think tank on race equality, in February and March 2010, working 3 days a week. She worked specifically on the UK Race & Europe Network (UKREN), which is housed at Runnymede and is a network of around 120 organisations interested in EU race equality policy. The network provides information on EU developments in relation to race equality, anti-discrimination, migration and integration. Annie was a tremendous help during her internship, showing genuine commitment to the issues dealt with here at Runnymede. Annie’s activities included: - Administrative tasks, in particular helping with organising a seminar of more than 100 participants, and updating the UKREN members database - Writing a review for the Runnymede Bulletin and producing a factsheet for UKREN members on the equality implications of the EU Lisbon Treaty. - Producing the fortnightly UKREN newsletter - Updating the UKREN website Annie is reliable and hard working and has a great team spirit; she’s a fast learner and throughout her internship she consistently produced work to a high standard. I can therefore strongly recommend Annie and am confident she will be an asset to any organisation.
