- I was a member of the professional oversight team where my main area of responsibility was to oversee the audit monitoring inspections performed by Recognised Supervisory Bodies (RSBs). - My day to day activities were centred around audit file inspections and review of firm-wide procedures. - In 2020 I was on a short-term secondment in the AQR department. - My responsibilities were to support Audit Partners by actively managing and ensuring end-to-end delivery of audit and other non-audit engagements. - I spent a big part of my time managing others. This involved directing and helping other members of the team to work efficiently on the required tasks and significant risks as well as ensuring the clients were clear about the audit process and information requirements. - As an Audit Senior Manager I was allocated a number of complex audit and non-audit projects requiring good knowledge of auditing and financial reporting standards. Some examples include: Cross-Border and AIM listed Group Audits, IPO reporting accountant services, business acquisition due diligence, accounting for special purpose vehicles. - I was involved with the process of tendering to prospective clients and I delivered some internal training sessions on audit and financial reporting to junior members of the staff. - I joined Grant Thornton (GT) as an Audit Senior and I have been promoted to Audit Assistant Manager after one year. - I adapted quickly to the new firm’s culture and to Guernsey’s regulatory and reporting requirements. In addition, I took proactive steps to develop skills required for Audit Managers and further developed my communication, interpersonal and coaching skills. - I took increased responsibilities and acted as Engagement Manager, reporting to Audit Partners, on a number of audit clients with assets of up to GBP 100 million.
