Responsible for supporting and improving coating lines for PEX tubing used in fire sprinkler, plumbing or radiant heating (in floor). Led a project that reduced the overall scrap percentage by 5%, while eliminating the need for 2/3 of the equipment causing the issue. Helped install a Polyethylene powder material handling system at a chosen offsite location. The system unloads railcars into multiple silos which are then downsized into containers and eventually trucked to the main manufacturing plant. This project saves $1.5-2.5 million/year in raw material costs. Manage capital equipment installations to increase capacity needs. Duties include: designing custom equipment needs in 3D modeling software, sourcing fab shops or equipment vendors, managing capital account and timelines, directing electricians, technicians and millwrights, help debug electrical controls and qualifying the equipment for production use. Participate in two small group committees empowered to plan holiday events and improve safety. Volunteer time to spend with STEM projects, tours and job shadows. Show less

Created a repeatable process for the manufacturing of a prototype product line known as iStretch, a family of stretchable wires, using statistical analysis tools like DOE. Set the costing model, authored the manufacturing and assembly instructions for all constructions in iStretch. Further reduced manufacturing costs for iStretch, while researching other possible constructions, by modifying equipment and process parameters.
