I have no idea how many roles Levi has played at Bloc. Mentor, program director, developer, curriculum writer, etc... it feels like the list could stretch on forever. That's only possible when a person has bought into the mission of a company and is willing to do anything asked to make it successful. I'm honored to say that I got to work alongside Levi in most of his roles (on purpose or by surprise) and I can tell you that he's a smart, passionate guy who genuinely cares about both the task at hand and how that task fits into the larger picture.

At Tuft and Needle, our small platform team is responsible for many things. One day we might act as an SRE, and on other days, we might act like an architect. This breadth of work has allowed me to gain experience in many areas. Some of the projects I've worked on at this team are:- CI pipeline migration from Circle to Buildkite- Contributed to new developer workflows utilizing Docker and Docker Compose- Helped identify performance problem in our application and provided guidance to other engineers on how to address them.- Instrumentation of our Rails and Node apps with Honeycomb

While working at Bloc as a Senior Software Engineer, I was responsible for maintaining our e-learning platform and data warehouse.Utilizing a combination of Apache Airflow and my knowledge of SQL, I was able to reduce our ETL pipeline runtimes from 2 hours to 15 minutes. Also used domain driven design to re-architect core features of our e-learning platform, making it more flexible for curriculum developers and our students.

As a Lead Mentor, I was responsible for managing a team of 5-10 mentors in addition to maintaining a student load of my own. I helped our curriculum team develop curriculum, ensuring it was up to date with best practices as well as easy to understand by someone new to programming.
