I had the pleasure of working with Sophie for 2 years and I hope I'll have the pleasure again sometime in the future. Sophie is a talented and hard-working creative, she gives her all to everything she touches and goes above and beyond to deliver top work. She is someone who will always be there to lend a hand to anyone in the studio who needs it and was also a great support and mentor to many of the interns we had over the 2 years. On top of all this, she is also a wonderful personality to have around the office or in the pub on a Friday afternoon.

I was lucky enough to work with Sophie for two years at Dragon Rouge London. Not only is she a very talented designer in terms of working on client projects and pitches, creating brand experiences and solving design problems creatively as well as strategically, but she’s also a great team player and has really helped out the agency from a new business and marketing point of view too. She proactively made time despite busy client pressures to take the agency brand to the next level, including all of our marketing collateral design – from our newsletter and thought leadership brand creation, through to our own independent Instagram channel content strategy and design. Sophie’s also just a great person to have around in the studio – great to work with!

Designed a special edition pack for Elmwood’s own brand of tea, ‘Make Mine a Builder’s’, themed upon the FIFA World Cup, and to show support for England. The challenge was to link tea with the brand’s cheeky, light-hearted, yet no-nonsense tone of voice with football, through a concept spanning across numerous touch points. This included the teabag packaging itself, to using social media, where I created the hashtag #WORLDCUPPA to be used to commentate with during matches, down to event ideas including a wrecking football and a golden trophy mug to be won in a competition. Teamed with a copywriter intern during this process, we worked together to adjust the copy on the packaging to become foot-tea related, and throughout the whole campaign to work with my concepts. Working within the Corporate Design team, I helped contribute concepts and designs for the ‘consumer experience’ within a retail development, including creating a visual identity to run through wayfinding, signage, staff uniforms and sculptural elements. I also came up with the concept for a campaign for a supermarket’s scheme to encourage children to grow their own fruit and vegetables through supplying gardening equipment. I designed vegetable themed house-team badges to be made and used within communications as well as part of a gardening kit to be supplied. Show less

During this time I was given two main projects to work upon. The first, was to refresh the visual identity of a Middle Eastern arts institute, including the development of visual identities for two new film festivals that the institute will launch. I was involved from the early research stage, collating and documenting my findings which I then presented to the other members of the design team, brainstorming the core visual concepts and developing the visual language, and then mocking up the chosen ideas for interim presentations. For the second project, I worked upon the logo design ideas and development for the branding of an aluminium organisation. I worked with and assisted a small team of designers, guided by the creative director, as well as communicated and discussed these ideas with the strategy team throughout, to ensure that the designs and brand strategy worked simultaneously. Graduated with a first class honours in Graphic Design. During the course I remained relatively multidisciplinary, creating solutions to each brief in the medium most suited to my concept. Within my final year I opted to specialise a little more and worked to my strengths, which lie in concept generation, branding, visual identity & campaign design.
