As a the owner of San Francisco business with many years of experience working with service providers, I am happy to have found Edissa at a time when I am expanding my business and branching out into new areas of marketing. In the short time that I’ve known Edissa Nicolas-Huntsman, she has made several important creative contributions to a community organization that caused me to engage her professionally. From early on, Edissa proved to be flexible and intuitive with new people, strangers and groups, responding in the moment with friendly warmth and sincere interest. She brings humor, honesty and a courteous formality to work and social settings. With regards to preparing for presentations, she is punctual, responsive and clearly listens to feedback. As a content developer, she is generative and imaginative in a refreshing manner. Edissa works independently, meeting every deadline on time and taking care to review notes and background information. She asks appropriate questions, using my time efficiently and making appropriate changes to content, based on my feedback. As a coach, I found Edissa to be energetic, pushy and demanding, raising the bar in order to make sure I am prepared for important professional presentations. For example, before a recent high-stakes presentation for a professional panel and live audience, Edissa helped me to prepare my content for external scrutiny and tighten my delivery so that I felt confident to present my ideas in front of strangers. On several occasions, Edissa was able to draw a draft itinerary to get me ready for an important marketing presentation. I always feel in charge of the direction of my content even though she develops the prose and curates the images. After working with her on several projects, I feel Edissa knows how to bring out my strengths. She even makes time to follow up on outcomes and goals before starting a new project. Lastly, Edissa has produced attractive webinar content for my business. The webinar content had a good balance of creative and professional elements. When it comes to creative work, Edissa demonstrates that she can think outside the box, working to develop a visual storyboard to parallel the topic and communicating at crucial times to make sure she’s on track with delivering original, quality copy. I highly recommend Edissa for your creative needs, from copywriting to content development. She’s highly capable of putting together original content, researching complex topics, and providing you with choices in the direction you want your marketing to take.

From a former student’s perspective, I often reminisce about my wonderful experience, the knowledge I gained from Edissa’s class and from her, as my instructor and a courageous leader. I am grateful for this solid foundation. Open-minded and creative, Edissa develops a personal connection with whomever she works with and believes in that person’s ability to strive towards excellence as a thinker and writer. Her ability to provide encouraging and constructive feedback leaves you with unquenchable desire to produce an excellent, thoughtful, clear and well-orchestrated piece of work. Being a great educator manifests through strong commitment, skills, talent, knowledge, leadership and passion. These influence one's professional and personal levels years after. Edissa encompasses these skills. Edissa is a great coach, writer, leader, and a mentor. I am very grateful for our relationship and experience. I am more than happy to recommend Edissa for her unique skills and happy to support her in any way I can in the future. Thank you, Edissa!

This was a great job performing the duties of an Information Architect and Curator for Facebook's open-sourced platforms, including inventory, mapping, organizing and structuring complex data across various departments. Plus, it involved technical writing, editing and cleaning/rewriting HTML code to create high-quality industry-standard procedures, Wikis and end-user training documents for several managers in various program areas. Creating content for Bay Area Parent Leadership Action Network (PLAN) was an opportunity to connect with and contribute to the work of these wonderful community organizers, parents and educators collaborating to improve educational outcomes for San Francisco Bay Area youth. Content development for the project featured site visits, observation, research and meeting with the director and staff to understand the organization’s needs and expansion plans. By engaging and listening to the different members participating in their work, I produced multiple documents that reflected their ongoing community-organizing projects and the goals and services provided by the Transformative Capacity Building program. Consulting Services: • Observe Bay Area PLAN employees, parents and school staff during meetings and trainings in order to assess and accurately articulate program perimeters and services • Project information gathering through individual PLAN staff and community-member interviews • Development of new program content, including brochure language, various internal documents and website language aligned to the statewide education mandates • All work generated on a collaborative-revision model Show less
