  Since joining the Estimating Department at ARA Construction I have had the opportunity and ability to be entrusted with many different duties in the company. My primary focus has been preparing cost budgets and conceptual budgets primarily for retail and commercial projects ranging from interior fit-outs to new ground-up construction throughout the Eastern half of the United States. Estimates I have prepared range in value from $10,000 up to $10,000,000. I have recently been appointed as Head Estimator at ARA, overseeing our Estimating Dept. and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer to review and submit complete and competitive estimates to our clients. My primary responsibilities include; - Supervision of Estimating team including hiring of new employees for Estimating Dept. - Accepting and reviewing RFP Packages in order to delegate tasks to the Estimating team - Review of all plans, specs, and supporting documentation - Attending and hosting pre-bid walkthroughs, noting existing site conditions and accuracy to plans - Complete quantity take-off's and scope sheets - Solicit and acquire subcontractor and vendor pricing - Review and analyze bids for conformance to plans, specs, quantities and scope sheets - Prepare comprehensive estimates including all supporting documentation Notable achievements during my time with ARA include; - Successful bid and award of numerous projects of varying type and size. - Thorough review of estimating process and implementation of changes for improvement including creation of Estimating Process Manual - Positive increase in job profit margins - Improved bids submitted/bids awarded ratio Show less

  During my time at Doran Concrete I was involved in the manufacturing of concrete products ranging from paving slabs to waste treatment tanks. Duties included preparation of concrete products, Quality Control, preparing orders to be dispatched and delivery of products to their desired destination. My time at Doran Concrete allowed me to gain valuable experience in time management and working towards deadlines as I pushed myself to meet productivity targets on a daily basis.
