  Develop and manage budgets, staff, and all state and local reporting for the Sustainability Office Successfully managed, advocated and won Massachusetts Green Communities designation as one of the initial communities in the state. Implemented energy advisory and zero waste committees that advise the Mayor and City Council on alternative and energy efficiency measures/programs, net zero waste and carbon actions and strategies for the city. Developed the city’s Clean Energy RoadMap and as a follow-on the City’s Master Plan sections sustainably map Worked with community members to develop environmental partnerships between the city, Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and nonprofits. Implemented the first purchase of municipal street lights and later LED upgrade in NGrid territory. As part of a team, successfully applied for and accepted as a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) community. Member of the Resiliency Committee that completed the Newburyport Resiliency Plan which is currently being implemented. Have successfully solicited requests for proposals for solid waste and recycling contracting, leading to a regional contract with significant cost savings and automated collection. Show less
