Peer Tutor and Writing Mentor

Tutor students in general biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, genetics, Spanish, and psychology. Once a week, I serve as a writing mentor at the writing center; I have desk hours during which students may drop-in and request help with written assignments. I also host weekly study pods, which are meant to supplement the general biology lecture. I create review activities and discuss difficult topics with students to prepare them for upcoming quizzes or exams.

First Year Mentor

Group of undergraduate students that lead and mentor a group of approximately 10–20 first-year or transfer students, providing support through the orientation process and first academic year at LVC. The FYM program seeks to ease the transition to LVC by promoting personal, social, and academic success. FYMs additionally serve to help new students connect with other students, support systems, and, ultimately, the institution.
