My photographer husband and I share food travel stories with readers around the world. We have enjoyed a variety of travel events in Portugal—wine experiences, city walks, and day trips—impeccably organized and led by Ryan and his team at Catavino Tours. He has introduced us to beautiful wines, and to many of the region’s top producers. Ryan’s generous sharing of his in-depth knowledge of Portugal and its food and wine, is invaluable to us as a writer-photographer team!

I run an online Portuguese wine and olive oil shop in the US and met Ryan five years ago when I was scouting out producers and starting my business. Since then he has been my go-to for all things travel and Portuguese wine related. In addition to traveling with him to visit selected wine producers he recommended in the Douro - some of which I now work with - I have also collaborated with Ryan on tourism projects in Portugal. His knowledge of Portuguese wine, food and history is superb. He not only has done is "research" but he is incredibly well connected and respected in Portugal's wine and food scene. I also highly recommend his new bottle shop and event space - Catavino the Lab in Porto. This is a great shop to pick up a bottle of minimal intervention Portuguese wine made by a small producer. It also hosts wonderful wine, food and art events. His website and blog are also rich with insider tips to enjoy Portugal's diverse food and wine scene. If you are a traveler looking for a top notch wine and food tour - Ryan is the place to go! - Rachel Farah, Owner of Rachel Farah Selections (www.rachelfarah.com)
