I remember meeting Mark for the first time as my new manager on a wet, cold and rainy day, in the field talking to customers, and my first thoughts were that was that this was someone I wanted to follow. We discussed strategy and listened to each other. He really endeavoured and persevered to know me, his team and his customers, and made me feel valued and respected. He encourages responsibility and thought from you, he listens and allows you to take a lead. I always wanted to give my best. Across the business, he integrates teams so well, that you find yourself finding new ways to succeed. Success was always shared and I always felt like I was fighting the good fight. I feel that Mark is genuinely unique in his leadership capabilities, and this is due to his way of establishing standards without losing a level of empathy that others lack. Also a general all round top fella.
