Pamela Gray, MPH, MSN

I had the pleasure of working with William when I was employed as a Nurse Practitioner at Signature Healthcare in Monteagle, TN. At that time William served as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for the facility. The facility is a long term care residence for elders and people admitted for short term rehabilitation. Working in long term care requires having a great staff and the administration is key to the success of the Nurse practitioner. In that regard, I found William to be very hands on with the staff and more importantly, the residents. It was very clear to me that he loved his career and was committed to the health and well-being of the residents in the facility. William was so approachable for me as the nurse practitioner. Daily I was faced with making healthcare decisions for our patients and always wanting to do what was safest and most beneficial for them. William was always there to listen and discuss my thoughts on evidence-based care for our residents. I can clearly recall instances where I would seek his advice on my treatment plan for a resident. Whether he agreed or not William was always receptive to my plans and rarely did we disagree. He also helped me navigate the ever evolving healthcare system as it relates to long term care management and treatment. I appreciated having a team member who was so approachable, knowledgeable and challenging. It made my job in the facility so much easier and made me feel appreciated. While William was a joy for me to work with, the staff and residents at the facility also thought he was a good ADON. He was always available for them regardless of the circumstance. The staff and/or residents were always welcomed into his office where he provided his undivided attention to their matter at the time. In addition to his managerial duties, William was always very hands on within the facility. He was always willing to assist the nursing staff and nursing aides in any task related to patient care, from changing sheets on the patients' beds, redirection of a patient (common in long term care) or assisting in the dining room with meals. There was no task William would not assist with to ensure the operations of the facility and to ensure structure and routine for the residents. Before I resigned from my position at Monteagle, I was aware that William was in the process of continuing his nursing education. I am so proud of William for his recent accomplishments in nursing education and am pleased to find out that he is now Monteagle’s Director of Nursing. The staff and the residents are lucky to have him as their administrative leader. In him, they will find a knowledgeable, caring, God fearing nurse who will always have their best interest in mind. As a promising nurse leader and patient advocate, I highly recommend William Hall, BSN, RN, CDP. Pamela Gray, MPH, MSN
