On the road again! This time to the beautiful Sonoran desert. This is the very end of the "snow bird" season for Yuma Regional Medical Center, and the "seasonal" employees are winding down. Tonight is Rhonda's last night, next week Lynn will be gone, then I leave the following week. Soon, the lab will be back down to its core staff, until the fall, when the snow birds and the seasonal employees return. On the road again! This time to the beautiful Sonoran desert. The blood Bank Supervisor had severe reservations about bringing in an agency Technologist to fill the gap created by retirement and vacations. After training with the Blood Bank supervisor for one week, her relief was great. She would not have to cover the extra shifts herself, and she was confident in my abilities to work in her blood bank. Rapid training ability and orientation to a new environment are skills which develop through long term experience as a travel Technologist.
