  My internship is under Bioprocess Engineering doing bromelain enzyme production using recombinant technology. Bromelain is actually an enzyme from a pineapple. But in this case we are producing the same enzyme without a pineapple. We are using an e-coli bacteria as a starter to produce the bromelain enzyme by recombinant technology. The product will be in a powder form which can then generate into other products. As for now the bromelain we produce is used to make halal bromelain cream cheese instead of using rennet as an enzyme. Other than cheese, bromelain can use to produce different product and my personal project is to create bromelain soap. Show less
