Insurance follow up on past due accounts. I was in the ambulance billing field for almost 25 years. Medics At Home was looking for someone to assist in their back log of old accounts and a prior employer of mine referred me. I am enjoying being back in the ambulance/health insurance follow up industry. It's where I belong! I began this position on a part time basis. My work ethic was observed and I was asked to join full time! I am now employed full time, and working past due and current accounts.

Insurance follow up for Medicare and secondary insurance for two hospitals in Illinois, and 15 hospitals in Iowa. I won the first quarter OTI (Opportunity to Improve) from January to March, 2015. With that same OTI, I won OTI of the year for 2015 out of more than 190 submitted OTI's!

I have been promoted to Insurance Rep III due to experience with multiple insurance payers. Here is the announcement from Early Out Services: "Julee H. has worked for EOS for 18 months. Her great work ethic and ability to work multiple payors has allowed her to advance to an Insurance Rep III."

Billing Medicare for Ambulance transportation. When I started with MAST, I was doing data entry, entering Treat and Release reports. I was promoted to entering run reports and billing. I was then promoted to Patient Account Representative, doing follow up to claims. Follow up with insurance denials, filing appeals, entering payments and adjustments. I was then promoted to Medicare Specialist. I specialized in Medicare/Medicare HMO claims: verifying coverage, calling patients for correct insurance information, billing electronic claims to Medicare, running reports for rejected claims and correcting errors and resubmitting the claims. I, also, appealed denied Medicare claims, filed redeterminations, and reconsiderations. MAST had several patients requiring ambulance transportation to and from dialysis appointments. Part of my position as being a Medicare Specialist was to go visit the dialysis patients to confirm bed confined to support being transported to and from their dialysis appointments. If the patient was not bedconfined, I informed dispatch to no longer transport these individuals and assist them in obtaining another mode of transportation. I became familiar with many individuals and their families. One patient expired and his wife was so thankful for everything I had done for him in making sure each and every one of his claims was paid by Medicare and his secondary Tricare, that she called and invited me to have lunch with her to thank me for all I had done!
