Bio
Oskar Axelsson
Andreas is a hard-working, very practically oriented person who works well in the lab. He has a particular interest and skills in working with upscaling. Andreas showed a huge drive and initiative in improving things, like processes, labs, and equipment thereby contributing to driving the the whole group on a path of continuous improvement. Apart from synthetic chemistry he has a good grasp of most common analytical chemistry techniques and an excellent understanding of laboratory hardware of all kinds. I strongly recommend Andreas for work in this and related areas.

I worked with Andreas in various teams from 2009-14 and he is just the guy you want on your team: enthusiastic, persistent, gets things done and very happy to share what he knows. As a Superuser of Electronic Lab Notebook, he provided great support for roll-out and day-to-day first line support to users in the Oslo labs. On the project team, he shared his learning in detail, even to sending a photo of the apparatus, so I could replicate the technique in the UK labs. Above all, he’s been fun to work with.

Core activity has been to support research projects with investigation and synthesis of novel compounds intended as contrast agents for PET, SPECT, MRI and X-ray. The last few years heavy focus on PET and SPECT has lead to good insight in biology and molecular targeting. Multiple organizational restructurings have opened for work within chemical development, and lifecycle management of GE’s current product portfolio In addition to roles such as lead chemist and point-of-contact for outsourcings I have also been working with implementation and testing of validated software (Electronic Lab Notebook) Show less

This site was a "Blue-sky Research facility" where chemistry and machines were developed side-by-side and it housed facilities for animal testing which lead to a very rapid investigation of novel imaging techniques. With a limited workforce, everyone were expected to contribute to the full process, from synthesis of chemical entities, development of novel techniques, construction of machines to assisting during animal testing, something that gave a unique insight in the entire R&D process.
