I had been working with Jason for many years at MIM Software from his internship days all the way to his team lead role. I can confidently say Jason was one of few people whose work I can completely trust and count on in the company, no matter if it's a brand new project, a bug fix, a research presentation, or a prototyping project. We're working on the same team for many years. Lately, even without having to look at them, I just knew the work/code produced by Jason would be very well designed, very well written, highly maintainable and adaptive. That's Jason's reputation. And Jason was very detail-oriented. Over years through projects we worked on together, code reviews, meetings and presentations, I could see he paid great attention to almost every detail in his work. From top-level architecture design down to an insignificant java code formatting issue, everything was well thought out. That's also what makes his work stand out at the end. He's also a highly organized and efficient person. Always keep everything in place, keep track of everything very well. A source code, a meeting note, an internal conversation, a referenced paper or a documentation are always at his finger tip. I never saw him mixing things up. Overall Jason is a perfect model for engineer of all kinds, smart, dedicated, efficient and productive. And I highly recommend him without any doubt.

I am a member of the Science Analysis and Modeling group within the Space Exploration Sector at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Our group is a made up of a diverse group of engineers and physicists with backgrounds ranging from astrophysics to autonomous systems. As a Senior Software Engineer I develop software for theoretical and applied intelligent systems. I use a variety of languages including Java, C++, C#, Python, and MATLAB to develop software for theoretical applications. Some of these projects include a context-aware augmented reality system, a multi-agent autonomous fault management system, and optimal control strategies for swarms for UAVs. I also collaborate with industry partners to apply cutting edge technology to real-world problems. As the signal processing team lead I work with engineers, signal processing experts, and neuroscientists to develop analysis software for a non-invasive brain-computer interface. I also lead the integration of eye-tracking technology to provide blind patients with natural control of their visual prosthesis. Show less

MIM Software is a medical imaging company providing advanced software analysis for radiation oncology, radiology, nueroimaging and cardiac imaging. As a Principal Software Engineer, I worked on all aspects of the software design process including gathering requirements, software architecture design, GUI design, algorithm development and testing. Our team used an agile development process with regular code reviews to ensure software was reliable and well-designed. I gained a lot of experience developing efficient, multi-threaded software in Java while developing one of the fastest medical imaging platforms in the industry. I also helped formalize the R&D program and co-led a research team of six engineers. Our research team successfully transitioned 12 research projects to production software within the first two years. My research projects included semi-automated image segmentation techniques, robust statistical analysis, and advanced image reconstruction algorithms. Show less

Team Case was a partnership between Case Western Reserve University and ENSCO, Inc. to compete in DARPA’s Urban Challenge. Our autonomous vehicle, Dexter, made it to National Qualifying Event in Victorville, California. I worked on the computer vision team developing a road detection algorithm using thermal cameras. I also helped find bugs in the planning software by creating and running challenging simulation test cases.
