Delivery with small robots seems to be the precursor to full autonomous vehicles: slower, more controlled environments, cheaper, and smaller. But unlike full vehicles, there aren't popular robot available on the market built for this purpose. That's why I co-founded Intermode, building hardware to enable driverless delivery. In our first 8 months of operation, we build several iterations of the product, won pitch competitions, talked to dozens of interested customers, signed a 3-year lease for Modals, and delivered our first units to customers. As a co-founder, I focused on our product prioritization, financials, sales, manufacturing operations, grant applications, website, legal, and presentations (and of course a little of everything else!). I am currently acting as a non-full time advisor for the company.
