"Prepared means protected" (Pregătit înseamnă protejat), a Romanian Red Cross – District 6 Branch project, is part of the "Bucharest Prepared" program, managed by the Bucharest Community Foundation and backed by ING, IKEA and LIDL. This new grant funding mechanism aims to support CSOs in raising awareness on earthquake risks, create support systems in local communities, and promote life-saving behavior among citizens.Thus, we begin to #prepare together through:► training in providing first aid for at least 145 persons from preschool (100 educators and auxiliary staff) and university (45 students);► training on earthquake preparedness for 45 students from approximately 20 student associations within the Romanian Students Union (USR) and the "Frends" Association for Development;► increasing the degree of education regarding the correct behavior in case of earthquake for at least 850 preschool children in Bucharest. ► Managed the Learning and Development processes and activities for the Romanian Red Cross - District 6 Branch (a branch of the Red Cross activating in a district of Bucharest) while contributing to the best practices sharing among the staff; ► Identified training opportunities for the Romanian Red Cross - District 6 Branch personnel and volunteers alike, which are considered the backbone of the organization, in order to increase the organization’s capacity of intervention among vulnerable groups; ► Liaised with the state authorities throughout the reaccreditation process of the “Qualification and Employment Program for Baby Sitter Occupation (COR 531103)”, working in close collaboration with the Executive Director of the Romanian Red Cross - District 6 Branch and the Manager of the “Scufița Roșie” enterprise. This program is carried out by the Romanian Red Cross - District 6 Branch through the “Scufița Roșie” (Red Riding Hood), a social economy enterprise in the field of home childcare. The program offers a free course spanning on a period of 360 hours at the end of which the baby sitters are certified to perform various tasks, among which:• ensuring effective communication with the child and the family;• providing hygienic and sanitary conditions;• completing the child care card;• planning daily activities;• observing and enforcing of medical prescriptions;• supervising the child's health and administrating basic first aid treatment.
