  I worked in each of Y4, Y5 and Y6 classes responsible for 30 children's education across the education spectrum. This included teaching children with Special Educational Needs, both Gifted and Talented and those who needed more nurturing with their leaning. Involving detailed planning for the short, medium and long term educational goals and writing Individual Learning Plans and, where necessary, Individual Behaviour Plans. Responsible for managing Teaching Assistants, teaching students on placement and parent volunteers. Keeping classroom displays fresh and exciting for learning impact and marking books for ultimate learning opportunities was important to me. Mostly helping the children to make good progress and ensure they were happy and safe while at school. Over the years, I participated in many school residential visits and led or supported activities. Always a pleasure to see the children away from the school setting, albeit an exhausting one! I was responsible for Music and ICT for curriculum planning across the school and planned all of the music for events, Worships and productions. School performances, including a musical version of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado about Nothing' were directed for the Y6 leavers. Along with my colleague, I led a weekly Performing Arts club which sang and dance at numerous performances, including shows, residential homes and local hotels. A pleasure to be involved in! Show less
