Jan 2021 - May 2021
Completed a project placement for SYFAB, a company offering training and advice on funding and fundraising to community and voluntary organisations. I have developed a digital marketing strategy in response to the opportunity in processes due to COVID-19. Looking to utilize online training to expand SYFAB nationally. Conducting extensive research on SYFABB's current position in the market, and success relative to competitors. Alongside a PESTLE and SWOT analysis, gaining a deeper insight on the companies environment (macro and micro). Informing my recommendations for strategies in expanding SYFAB. Aided by a risk identification and an action plan over the next year to feasibly increase market reach. This has been presented to SYFAB, who will begin to implement my digital marketing strategy. Supported an ethical start up business 'The World's Best', working as a volunteer marketing assistant. Contributing towards the growth of the company, and gaining a depth of knowledge from an entrepreneur. Generating ideas with the owner, looking at how I can use marketing to aid growth. This has involved talking to potential suppliers to expand the companies product range. Developing an integrated marketing approach, creating consistency across a range of social media channels. Designing creative social media posts using Canva, aimed at attracting the companies target audience. Show less

Engaging in this placement opportunity during my time at college allowed me to see a business from a secretarial view. I was able to attend a company meeting which involved reading and following an agenda, and recording minutes. This gave me a valuable insight into how discussions flow within a professional environment. I engaged in communication training which offered me an understanding into the best ways to communicate in different situations. As well as organising diaries requiring time management as I had to ensure this person would be available to attend meetings I entered. I finished this work experience with a understanding of a business in a different field of work, with a valuable hands on approach. Show less
