We built the credit derivatives, loans, bonds and structured credit software trading platform from the ground up with a C# application and with multi-tiered Java servers, with pricing engines across several hundred linux machines. • I drove a major initiative to migrate the C++ distributed pricing engines to a distributed, grid-computing Java pricing framework, whilst making significant improvements in scalability and performance over the old. Initial benefits were for the overnight batch pricing and risk management. Further to this, this led to developing and provided real-time risk to the trading desk, and real-time profit & loss attribution to the Controllers and Product Groups. • I collaborated with Quant/Strats on building a real-time distributed grid solution, to provide timely and accurate risk metrics and reports. Made significant low-level and configuration changes to continually performance tune the real-time pricing engines to reduce computation time and thus enable support for more risk measures. Additionally, I led the efforts to improve start-of-day risk reporting for the desk both through C++/Java code changes and configurations changes. • I managed and led the Exotic Basket pricing and Market Data modelling for Exotic Correlation curves and surfaces. This framework was then extended to support Base Correlation modelling for the trading desk. • Lead designer and senior developer in a "green-field" project, defining blue-prints and re-engineering of an old Repo Trading and Collateral Management system into a brand new distributed, multi-tiered, service-based architecture. Delivered new solution with multi-million dollar optimizations and performance improvements to the Firms collateral pledging facilities. Show less
