John is an excellent project manager. He pays great attention to detail, including budgets, documents, and the many coordination details required for stakeholder involvement programs. John is very responsive, to both clients and colleagues. He returns phone calls promptly, completes assignments on time, and asks for clarification when necessary. John multi-tasks successfully, simultaneously developing proposals, finalizing written work products, conducting outreach with stakeholders, and preparing for and facilitating public meetings and advisory groups. John is a team player, comfortable in a matrix-type or hierarchical organization, working with and for different managers, and playing different roles on projects. He is extremely approachable, puts people at ease and is successful working with diverse audiences.

John and I shared a management role on what I consider one of the most challenging projects in my career. We facilitated a process to join a diverse set of stakeholders across federal, state, and local government, tribes, environmental groups, and more to agree on and execute process changes aimed at improving transportation environmental permitting for the state of Washington. John executed all duties under tight deadlines and extreme pressure. His communication skills are impeccable and he was able to perform very well within a rather ambiguous atmosphere. I've worked with John on other occasions and could always count on his professionalism and drive to succeed. Thanks John!

The Seattle Planning Commission is a 16-member volunteer body that advises the Mayor, City Council, and City departments on broad planning goals, policies and plans for the physical development of the City of Seattle. The Commission also engages in independent analysis and promotes issues that are vital to livability. As a member of the professional staff supporting the Planning Commission, I am committed to developing policies and plans that promote healthy, sustainable communities. I believe that a vibrant city includes distinct neighborhoods, a range of housing options, transportation choices, and local economic development opportunities. Show less
