Alice not only has the potential for community leadership, but she is also already excelling in her leadership positions both in and outside of the Junior League. In her career, Alice has progressed from an Annual Giving Specialist to Development Manager, to Director of Development, to Associate Director. Her willingness to take on progressively more responsibility with each position she accepts is truly inspiring. Within the league, Alice’s passion for service is apparent in every interaction she has with members and leadership. She was unanimously selected as Junior League of Nashville’s Rising Star nominee because of her humility, grace, and natural leadership ability. Alice has demonstrated leadership in the community through her position as Community Events Chair. As Community Events Chair, Alice helps coordinate our large-scale volunteer projects including Kids in the Kitchen and All Booked Up as well as supporting our Members in Motion event. She has personally helped mobilize over 200 volunteers for our various volunteer projects. Her knowledge of volunteer management is apparent in the individual approach she takes to ensure that every volunteer has a supremely positive experience. Her willingness to take the time to get to know each individual volunteer, their motivations, and what they are seeking to get out of the experience is what makes our volunteers have an above-average experience when they are out in the community. Alice has demonstrated leadership in the League through her willingness to spearhead new initiatives and jump in head first. In her first year, she used her career expertise to serve on the Strategic Planning committee. She was an immediate stand out for her positive energy, enthusiasm for the work of the League, and natural leadership ability. Because of this, our President sought Alice’s help to charter a Board of Advisors committee. She did this in addition to her placement on the Membership committee. Her willingness to go above and beyond in the pursuit of service to the League is phenomenal. Without her leadership, I don’t believe we would be as successful in engaging our members and our community partners. Alice demonstrates her commitment to diversity and inclusion through her individual and tailored approach to interactions with our members. She understands that every member is unique and attempts to tailor their experience based on their cultural, social, and spiritual needs. Inclusivity is very important to Alice. She knows that it is equally important to our members to feel like a valued member within the League AND within our community partners so she strives to create a positive experience on both fronts. The desire to belong is strong for our members and I believe Alice helps spearhead this initiative in a way that makes all members feel valued for their diverse backgrounds.
