  This position involved counselling students of a disadvantaged high school who had been affected by psychological trauma. I received supervision and support from a clinical psychologist specialising in the field of psychological trauma, and attended workshops based on some of the recurring problems faced by adolescents of these inner city schools. The supervision and workshops provided me with tools and resources I was able to implement in the counselling sessions. By the end of the school term, I had had regular sessions with 30 different students facing various issues including familial problems, substance misuse, depression, bullying, and physical and sexual abuse.
