I was an exhibitor at the Art Director's Club many years ago. Karl had stopped to talk with me. He had orange glasses on. I never forgot him. 4 years ago Karl and I joined the same networking group. We got to know each other well. He recommended that I should speak with Sabine Lenz of PaperSpecs. She is on the West Coast and I had heard about her in the past. Karl felt that this would be a good connection for me. Karl's foresight turned out to be a key reason for my success to date. That connection changed they way I saw myself and my business. I trust and value Karl's years building his community.

I was a client of Karl's this past year. I had chosen to transition from a Professor of Design and Technology (11yrs) to a UX Researcher and Designer within the private tech industry. This was a major change that included many professional challenges. Karl was amazing to work with and I know I would not have landed my dream job without his help. He helped me with my resume and portfolio, but most importantly he was my mentor and coach. Karl met with me weekly and he did give me assignments, but he was always available to chat when questions came up regarding a job application or interview. Karl's coaching helped me identify the skills and strengths that I had overlooked and/or taken for granted. He helped me through the interviewing and negotiating processes. Whether you are a junior, associate, or senior-level professional, I highly recommend working with Karl if you are seeking a position within the creative and tech field. He is extremely knowledgeable and will help you find the position that is right for you.

I am fortunate to know Karl. We first met over 30 years ago at the start of my career, and he has helped guide the course and trajectory of my professional success ever since. As a coach, Karl matched my skills and expertise to temporary and permanent roles at NuArt, The Greenwich Workshop, Alexander Isley Design, and Victorinox Swiss Army. Later, during my tenure as Creative Director at Assa Abloy, he helped build out my team by providing key talent to fulfill freelance and permanent graphic design roles. After 17 years of growth within the same company, it was time for me to look for new challenges. I went to Karl for guidance and outplacement coaching. His sensitivity and patience reached the heart of what I needed. He guided me through my unique obstacles and the clutter and noise of the marketplace to reveal a clear and viable pathway. With a solid historical understanding of the industry, he seamlessly counseled me through the process of a new search with tangible goals. In less than two months, I secured a new role that exceeded my expectations, providing deep personal meaning and professional satisfaction. It was Karl’s direction and expertise that got me there. Karl is an empathetic listener with a thoughtful approach. He has an intuitive, organic, and insightful understanding of people and brings the right talent and personalities together in the right circumstances. It is a unique skill set that borders on magic. He just gets it.

WHO SONO SPACES NORTH located at 13 North Main Street in South Norwalk was founded in 2011 by Karl Heine of creativeplacement and kHyal of fiZz Agency. SONO SPACES SOUTH was founded in 2016 by Karl Heine and Bob Walker of Surveys & Forecasts, LLC. Karl met Bob when he licensed a desk at SoNo Spaces North in 2015. They formed Space Partners LLC to launch 5,000 Square Feet of additional coworking space at 23 South Main Street in downtown SoNo. HISTORY SONO SPACES NORTH — THE ORIGINAL CONCEPT In 2011, Karl Heine created SoNo Spaces — with an assist from kHyal at fiZz Agency — as an extension of the way his own work style had evolved. Since 2008, he and kHyal, had begun to work remotely from other US cities, and in places like Berlin and Paris when traveling for business. They became interested in the share culture cultivating in Manhattan and Brooklyn because of the rising costs of real estate, and the need to collaborate on resources. They had friends that were pioneering in the coworking arena, and they attended many events in different coworking locations. Show less
