Mike has been working at Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) as a contracted Senior IT project Manager for the past 2 years. He initially started as a Project Manager for the project to convert the SCC’s 1100 desktop and laptop computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10. In addition to that project, Mike also managed another enterprise project to upgrade our existing, almost end of life, router and firewall hardware infrastructure to Cisco’s most current router and firewall hardware. Both projects were completed ahead of schedule and deemed extremely successful. For the Windows 10 project, Mike came in and immediately took charge of the project. He reviewed project documentation from the previous windows 7 upgrade to capture any historical information, he insured that the requirements were fully captured, set expectations on what success looked like, developed a very realistic project plan, and established a very strong repour with members of the project team, as well as his customers. Some of Mike’s strongest attributes were his organizational and communication skills, which helped him work through some very challenging technical issues that came up during the project. He was able to define the problem and keep the technical teams on track as they worked through these issues, and was noted several times for the excellent job he did as far as providing consistent and reliable communications throughout the length of the project. As a result, the project was completed three months ahead of schedule as was considered a great success for the IT Division. I would highly recommend Mike as a Senior IT Project Manager for any Enterprise IT project. His expertise as an IT Project Manager and soft skills (communications, people skills, etc.) will make a decided, positive difference in getting the job done correctly, on time and within budget.

It is my honor and priviledge to write a recommendation on behalf of Michael Gigante. Michael Gigante and I were colleagues at TIAA-CREF for almost three years. When I arrived there Michael was very instrumental in getting me very acquainted with not only the culture of TIAA-CREF but with the various blended methodologies utilized. Michael was my goto person whenever I needed a question answered quickly. His acumen as a Program and Project Manager is superior as well as his soft skills working with internal clients make even an asset to any team or company lucky enough to snatch him up. I would truly enjoy working with Michael again, as we were a very good team and assisted each other as my learner curve at TIAA-CREF became less steep. He is one of the most knowledgeable and personalble professionals I have ever worked with in my career.
